Rumi: The Alchemy of Love

I have always admired the works of Hz. Mevlana Jelaleddin Rumi, the Persian Sufi and Islamic scholar.

You come to us from another world

From beyond the stars and void of space

Transcendent, pure, of unimaginable beauty

Bringing with you the essence of love

You transform all who are touched by you

Mundane concerns, troubles and sorrows

dissolve in your presences.

Bringing joy to ruler and ruled

to peasant and kings.

You bewilder us with your grace

All evils transform into goodness.

You are the master alchemist

You light the fire of love

In earth and sky

In heart and soul of every being.

Through your love

Existence and nonexistence merge

All opposite unite

All that is profane becomes sacred again

After finished, try to re-read again with music by Giovanni Marradi – Someone like you.

  1. I also enjoy reading Rumi’s. Have you ever heard about Shams Tabrizi? Just recently I learned about him, and currently in searching for his works. I dont know where to start looking for his books anyway ^^;

    1. Yes! Shams is Rumi’s spiritual guide. I am not sure about Shams’ work, but I started reading Rumi from Tears of The Heart written by Osman Nuri Topbas. A beautiful book with commentary on Rumi’s works
